The ABC of Cannabis

CBGA precursor to CBD and THC
A for acid, B for binding, C for cannabinoids

Did you know that the A in CBD-A and THC-A stands for “acid”Phytocannabinoids can be classified as acidic or neutral. The plant naturally produces the acidic cannabinoids – or carboxylic acids – and over time, or with heat, the acid form decarboxylates into the neutral form.

While both types have been found to have therapeutic benefits, the acid form does not seem to bind with CB receptors, meaning it has no psychoactive effect.[1]

Cannabinoids, and especially the acid forms, need much further research, but early studies suggest that the acidic cannabinoids are better absorbed by the body and are more potent in their working.

Qure has added 4 new acidic cannabinoids to its repertoire: CBC-A, CBDV-A, CBN-A, and THCV-A. This brings our total cannabinoid count to 16.

The beauty of this news is that we have had a whole price restructure, and testing for potency or cannabinoids may now cost you less.

New pricing

Finding out the total THC and total CBD (after decarboxylation) in your sample is now only R 420*.

Full potency gives you 3 cannabinoids of your choice, plus their acid-forms where relevant – that is up to 6 cannabinoids – at R 600*.

The cannabinoid profile offers you all 16 cannabinoids at R 1 000*.

Terpene analysis offers you 22 terpenes at R 1 000*.

Residual solvents remain R 400 for 19 solvents.

Density measurement (liquid samples only) is a R 50 add-on to Cannabinoids or Terpenes to convert your results into mg/ml, or R 100 as a standalone test.

The prices of foreign matter inspection, loss on drying, microbial analysis, pesticides, heavy metals and mycotoxins remain unchanged.
