Learning and discovery in the field of Cannabis science

From an early age, my exposure to Cannabis ignited a fascination that would shape the trajectory of my life and career. Growing up, I had the unique experience of sharing the occasional smoke with my mother, an open-minded and free-spirited woman who has always believed in the power of nature.

This introduction to Cannabis not only demystified the plant, but also instilled in me a deep curiosity about its potential.

As I entered adulthood, my passion for medicine, science, and plants guided my educational choices. At Wits University, I immersed myself in the study of biochemistry, microbiology, and environmental science. It was during this time that my connection with Cannabis deepened.

Ground-breaking research: uncovering the untapped potential

Not content with mere recreational use, I delved into ground-breaking research, eager to uncover the untapped potential of this remarkable plant.

I explored the effects of Cannabis on cancer tissue and apoptosis, seeking to understand its potential applications in medicine. This research fuelled my desire to contribute to the advancement of Cannabis knowledge and its applications.

After completing my master’s degree at the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), where I focused on seaweed and abalone, I reached a pivotal juncture in my career. Fuelled by an unwavering passion for Cannabis and a deep desire to contribute to its advancement, I decided to shift my field of speciality.

G-Gnome Gardens Research Club, a platform for exploration

Eager to delve deeper into the world of Cannabis and its diverse applications, I founded the G-Gnome Gardens Research Club. This organisation served as a platform for me to study Cannabis extensively, identify novel phenotypes, and discover specific end-chain applications.

It provided a haven where like-minded individuals could come together to explore the complexities of the plant and push the boundaries of knowledge.

Fostering growth and development

As my journey continued, I became a founding member of the Cannabis Industrial Development Co-operative (CIDC). This visionary initiative aimed to facilitate the growth and development of the Cannabis industry, further fuelling my passion for the plant.

Collaborating with fellow industry enthusiasts, we worked tirelessly to create a supportive ecosystem that would empower Cannabis entrepreneurs and researchers alike.

Qure, bridging the gap between science and passion

It was during this transformative time that I met Natie, Jean, and Brenda. Our paths converged, and it became clear that we shared a common dream to provide reliable and accurate Cannabis testing services.

This shared vision became the foundation for Qure, a pioneering venture that would allow us to contribute to the burgeoning Cannabis industry with our analytical expertise.

On one hand, we recognised that scientists often lacked a deep understanding of the complexities and diverse applications of the Cannabis plant. On the other hand, we saw that many Cannabis users were passionate about the plant but had limited exposure to the wealth of scientific knowledge available to them.

I firmly believe that bridging this gap is essential for unlocking the full potential of Cannabis.

Motivated by this belief, I have dedicated myself not only to deepening my own scientific understanding of Cannabis but also to sharing this knowledge with the broader community. Qure emerged as a way to bridge this gap, offering accurate testing and analysis services that empower both scientists and Cannabis enthusiasts.

Our team of experts has meticulously analysed Cannabis samples, providing valuable insights to growers, researchers, and consumers alike. Through our work, we have aimed to provide the information necessary for making informed decisions and fostering a harmonious relationship between science and the Cannabis community.

Unlocking the true power & potential of Cannabis

As I continue to explore the vast potential of Cannabis, I am driven by the belief that through science and understanding, we can unlock its true power and revolutionise the Cannabis industry.

Looking ahead, I am excited to see how the Cannabis landscape evolves. With the legalisation movement gaining momentum worldwide, there has never been a more crucial time to bridge the gap between science and Cannabis enthusiasts.
