Each sample receives a separate certificate of analysis (COA). Multiple tests performed on the same sample are grouped into the same COA. If you want more than one test done on a sample, it is easier to book them all in one go. if you are booking only one type of test, the individual tests are listed underneath.
For potency, if you want to know the total THC and total CBD after decarboxylation, then you can book the basic potency test at R420.
If you preserved the acid forms via a cold extraction method and would like to distinguish between THC and THC-A, and CBD and CBD-A, we recommend you choose the full potency test at R600. This gives you the option to choose up to 3 cannabinoids (and their acid forms where relevant).
You can also do a cannabinoid profile at R1000 if you are curious about all 16 cannabinoids that we can test for.
Please note, if your oil is in a carrier, then a 20% compounded product surcharge applies and the prices become R500, R720 and R1200 respectively for basic potency, potency test and cannabinoid profile.
The cost depends on which test you choose. Our pricing page lists every type of test with all its associated costs. All our prices include 15% VAT.
Potency & Cannabinoids are between R420 and R1200 per test.
The residual solvent analysis is R400 for 19 different solvents.
Microbial testing is R300 per test.
The short answer: yes! Those are examples of what we analyse.
The fact is, we can test any type of Cannabis-related sample. We categorise them into 3 types:
Our cannabinoid and terpene testing are priced the same whether you test plant material or concentrates, and there is a 20% surcharge on testing compounded products.
When sending a compounded product for testing, please let us know the carrier or main ingredient so that we can ensure it doesn’t interfere with our reference standards, which would affect results.
Yes, for liquid samples. A density measurement is required to convert the results from mg/g (presence per mass) to mg/ml (presence per volume). This can be booked as an add-on to our potency, cannabinoid, and terpene analyses, at R50 per test.
Alternatively, the density measurement can be booked as a standalone test at R100.
We plan to expand our services to test for alkaloids such as mesembrine in Sceletium, mescaline in cacti, psilocybin and/or psilocin in mushrooms. Enquire for your specific sample type.
On plant material, we offer testing for:
For concentrates and compounded products, you wouldn’t necessarily test for moisture content or pesticides, but can additionally test for

On qure.co.za, click on the “BOOK A TEST” button at the top right of any page.
Pick the relevant test, and complete the details, including a unique sample reference.
If you have any specific requests regarding the contact details on the COA, please note them in the additional notes box.
Click on “ADD TO BASKET”. A sidebar will pop up, which allows you to either continue to checkout or book another test.
On the checkout page, if you are not already signed in, it will ask you to sign in or create an account. Please register with the details you want to appear on this and future COAs.
You will have the option to pay via instant EFT or credit card, or make a manual payment into our bank account (details are provided).
You will receive confirmation of your order and your invoice via email.
The sample size depends on the tests you want to be done, as well as the sample type. We have created a handy table on our sample sizes page.
For a cannabinoid or terpene profile, we require 0.5 g of plant material or concentrates, 5 g of edible/tincture/topical/butter, 10 capsules, or 100 ml of a beverage.
For residual solvents, please send 0.5 g of extract, or 5 capsules.
Microbial testing requires 2 – 5 g sample per test, and 10 – 25 g if it is a Salmonella test.
The lead time for each test is listed on the test booking page, and also on the pricing page. For most tests, the lead time is 5 working days from receipt of the sample and payment. For microbial impurities, pesticides, heavy metals and mycotoxins, the lead time is 3 weeks from receipt of the sample.
We will email the certificate of analysis (COA) to the email address you registered with. If you want to specify a different email address, please let us know in the “additional notes” box when logging the sample.
We use a gas chromatograph with flame-ionisation detection (GC/FID) for cannabinoids, terpenes and solvents.
Our other equipment includes an analytical balance, laboratory incubator, and microbial growth plates.
Our pesticide, heavy metals and mycotoxin testing is outsourced.
All of the above information can be found on our pricing page.

Our laboratory is Unit 2 in Kings Landing Business Park, 98 Bath Street, Montagu, 6720, Western Cape.
Use reliable packaging. Place each sample in a separate, sealed container. Ensure liquids cannot leak and packaging cannot break.
Mark each sample with the unique sample reference you specified in the booking process. This goes onto the COA so you know which COA belongs to which sample. It also helps us know which tests to perform on which sample.
Ensure the package is clearly marked with your order number. You will receive the order number in your confirmation email and can also look it up on your orders page.
We can recommend InterTownTransport and RAM. While we have always had great service from The Courier Guy (including PUDO), they have recently returned a couple of samples in line with their policy of not carrying Cannabis.
Note that using a courier to send your sample(s) is at your own risk.
Cannabis oils (depending on the carrier) are generally quite temperature-stable in ambient conditions.
If your sample is temperature-sensitive, you will have to ensure it arrives via a temperature-controlled courier service. Please specify any temperature requirements for the laboratory when booking your test.
All the instruments, reference materials and equipment used in a laboratory have an acceptable level of uncertainty.
Taking into account the reference standards, measuring equipment and process, our method has a 4% uncertainty.
Where results exceed 100%, there has been a tiny bit of an over-recovery. That is why there should always be a theoretical value (e.g. 100% CBD) and a range in which the results are deemed acceptable (e.g. it could be between 90 – 110%).
A 5 – 10% range usually applies in the pharmaceutical industry.
